The two short stories that I read were both awfully complicated to understand. The stories became clearer as I read them through a couple of times. The two stories that I read were, "The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, and "Never" by H.E. Bates. Her conscious takes over her mind making her late for her trip. This is very surprising because in the end I thought she would end up going to London, since she was looking forward to it and most of the time stories end happily ever after.
