I feel that men are generally more healthier than women. Woman have to deal with all of the complications associated with childbirth, as well as being two to four times more likely to be diagnosed with depression than men. When it comes to heart disease, women are less likely than men to be diagnosed accurately. Once diagnosed, women are less likely to receive the same quantity and quality of tests and medications than men. It has also been proven that other diseases such as STD's, Autoimmunie disorders, obesity and diabetes are more prevalent in women. I had never thought of health as a "men's health vs. women's health" issue before reading these articles. It gave me a different outlook on today's health issues. As a woman, the lack of research and funding for women's health issues is a major concern to me. It was alarming to read of the lack of knowledge of most physicians on the subject of heart disease in women. Health, rather it is men's or women's, is important in any family. We all have loved ones whom we would always like to see in good health. When a loved one is ill, we want the best medical treatment possible for that person. So when it comes to family, I hope they are doing plenty of research and educating physicians adequately on both men's and women's health issues.

When you look at health issues as a struggle between men and women, it becomes a sociological issue. It is important for society to encourage equal and adequate health research for both men and women. However, health is effected by other factors other than just gender. Race and income are two variables affecting health for both men and women.. Poverty and lack of education are both major predictors of poor health.
