The right to a good and equal education is the right of every child around the world. Children are unique individuals who need a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. The role of education in our society is to prepare children with knowledge that will enable them to become self-sufficient, well-rounded, academically sound, and socially adept adults. Therefore, the educational system needs to expose students to a variety of subjects that will help develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment.

In order to aid students in reaching their desired learning goals, the educational systems must present a solid, thoughtful and comprehensive curriculum in Visual and Performing Arts at each grade level; which consists of Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. The study of visual and performing arts convey knowledge and meaning that are not learned in other subjects. "Art education offers students the opportunity to envision, set goals, determine a method to reach a goal and try it out, identify alternatives, evaluate, revise, solve problems, imagine, and apply self-discipline (Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards, .)"

The unique contribution that dance makes to arts education is that it is a means of self-awareness and a fundamental form of communication as well as a performance art. Dance develops "kinesthetic intelligence," "spatial intelligence," and "musical intelligence" in addition to creativity. Dance encourages intellectual curiosity and creative thinking and enhances decision making particularly with regards to career choices. In order to aid students in reaching their desired learning goal, we as educators must have a clear set of objectives, which includes education students in all four Visual and Performing Arts. In return, we will provide students an opportunity to spread their wings and see the world in a broader horizon.

Veterinarians are doctors who treat diseased and injured animals and give advice on how to care and breed healthy animals. The first veterinarian appeared around ,500 B.C. in Babylon and China. There are two main types of vets. For example, there are large animal veterinarians that work with cows, horses, elephants, and numerous other large species. But there are also small animal veterinarians that work with smaller species, such as companion animals (pets).

There are many different places of employment for veterinarians. Some veterinarians work at zoos. These veterinarians take care of the sick or injured zoo animals. Their job is very hard because the medical problems can be multiplied greatly to all the zoo's species. There are also companion animal veterinarians. They take care of the general public pets. Out of the 56,000 veterinarians in the United States, half are companion animal veterinarians. Food inspector veterinarians work at inspecting meat. They check meat for diseases, so that the people who consume the meat will not get sick. Food inspectors check about 100,000,000 animal carcasses a year, out of that about 1,000,000 pounds are condemned. There are also veterinarians that checkup on sporting animals, they help racing horses, greyhounds, ostriches, etc. Marine veterinarians are just about the same as zoo veterinarians, but they deal with water animals like whales and dolphins. Some veterinarians also work as professors, teaching college students about veterinary medicine.

A veterinarian's job is considered a good one because they usually make a good deal of money, especially if they own their own business. The average income of veterinarians in private practice was $57,500 in 15. The starting salary of a veterinarian is somewhere around $,000 per year nowadays. But veterinarians in more established careers make around $40,000-$60,000. But those who work for the federal government (meat inspectors) are considered to make less.

Veterinarians also require much more education to be what they are. There are 7 colleges in 6 states that meet veterinary medicine accreditation standards. The required G.P.A. to get into a veterinary college is from a .5-.. Veterinarian students usually complete about a 4-5 year program in college. But some colleges require that students complete at least years of general college. While in veterinary college students do laboratory work in anatomy, biochemistry, and other scientific and medical subjects. To become a full service veterinarian you have to acquire a D.V.M or a degree as a doctor of veterinary medicine. After you acquire a D.V.M. students must pass an examination from the state board of veterinarian licensing.

A day in the life of a veterinarian is usually very challenging. The veterinarians have longs hours and difficult shifts. Most veterinarians are on call most days, if something goes wrong then they must report to the job. The veterinarians must know hundreds of treatments for sick or injured animals. But some animals just cannot be saved, so they have to be euthanized (put to sleep). Some of the jobs a veterinarian does are he cures diseases, mends broken bones, and gives birth to animals. A vet does all of his/her activities in many rooms. A main veterinary hospital consists of an examining room(s), a x-ray room, a kennel room with dog run, and a surgical room.

In conclusion, a veterinarian's job is in many people's opinion the best job of all. Most people consider being a veterinarian at a young age because of their love for animals. "A veterinarian's job is considered to be one of the hardest because the patient cannot tell you where it hurts"

" Is it possible to be for or against globalisation?"

Introduction

Nation states are loosing their power as the world borders become diminished between countries and states. People are more aware now of the world's issues due to the media, technology and people power. They are moving away from governments that they once trusted; turning their attention towards non-government organisations that focus on brings people together for a cause.

Non government organisations otherwise known as NGO's are groups of people who feel strongly about an issue and want to make a difference. Gaining political interest and power outside governments. Spreading the information and power they have acquired around the globe. They use the media as their vehicle to inform the public on issues that affect us directly and indirectly. Ranges of issues they are passionate about include human rights and the environment.

One of the worlds largest NGO's is the World Wildlife fund. It has over 5 million members in over 100 countries around the world. Their aim is to save our biological diversity, reduce pollution and encourage living in harmony with the planet. They are a non-profit organisation that relies on donations from members and the public to help in their fight to save the earth. Web sites and advertisements on TV, newspapers and on the radio let people know what they are doing in their fight to save our conservation and wildlife. The panda is their logo which people recognise them by.

One of the latest campaigns the WWF are working on is the Kymoto climate treaty, which aims at reducing the worlds green house gases. World Wildlife Fund believe that every country should sign this agreement without hesitation as green house gases affect us all. Unfortunately the world's largest polluter, the United States is against the treaty.

Another well-known NGO is Amnesty International, which has around a million members in over 162 country's and territories. Amnesty International is an organisation that promotes human rights. It aims to ensure fair trials for political prisoners, abolish the death penalty, cruel treatment of prisoners and end political killings. There logo is a lit candle with barbwire around it, it is recognised around the world as the symbol for human rights. Fundraising, concerts write letters to

Governments, public demonstrations and appeal for individuals are just some of the ways in which Amnesty International try to make a difference globally. They are not interested nor do they take any political, religious or government persuasion. This organisation believes that everyone around the world deserves the right to feel safe and have a fair trial no matter what they have done.

After the September 11 booming on the world trade centre many detainees are not receiving their human rights. Amnesty International is investigating many reports of human rights abuses. These include detainees been held for more than 48 hours without been charged and solitary confinement to cells for 23 hours a day. Amnesty International is making these issues public calling for a fair trial for all detainees.

These NGO's and many more give people and their communities the dynamic chance in making a difference on a local and global scale. Thousands of volunteers make up these organisations as well as the donations sent in by the public. Unemployed and retired people are made to feel alive by these organisations as their contributions help people that are less fortunate than them.

The Westphalia system was designed to supervise and impose social rules of the states and territories, it was governance. Sovereign states meant that governments had control over their regions, it was extensive control over people in their territories. It was a state system otherwise known as nation-states.

Today the Westphalian system does not seem to have the control it once had over territories and states. Non-government originations have much more strength and influence over the people than governments do over the people. Nation-states as well as large corporations are now been forced to listen to the general public or having to face the angry masses. They also have pressure from non-government originations, making it harder for governments to bend the truth or ignore important issues. Governments are very careful not to let the public know that they have been influenced by NGO's. Trying to believe they still have some control and influence left in the world.

Without non-government organisations putting pressure on governments and big corporations we would not see any changes in the world that the general public want. Angry voters would not have a voice, more than likely been told to stop their whingeing, as they had nothing to complain about. Issues such as the Koymoto treaty and human rights issues would be pushed aside making room for governments and companies to do as they please.

The effect of globalisation has been a huge benefit to non-government organisations and their success. With a flick of a button, flip of a page or a phone line and computer it is possible to receive information without travelling outside your home. Without these forms of communication it would be hard for these groups to communicate their message out to the masses. People would not notice Amnesty International or the World Wildlife Fund or any other organisation the government did not want you to know about.

Conclusion

It is possible to be for globalisation when you talk about non-government organisations. They use the media and technology as their vehicle to inform the public about what is happening around the world. These organisations work on a global scale to improve the quality of life for all. They try and impose corporations and governments to do the right thing for the people and the environment.

Scholars have recently identified concertive control as an essential factor in constraining teamwork. However, there was a lack of a well-validated scale to help analyze how team members control their behaviors in a cencertive manner. Due to this, in the study "Assessing Concertive Control in the Team Environment" (000), Brett M. Wright and James R. Barker focused on developing and validating a psychological scale that can create a greater understanding of concertive control and provide a useful tool for further studies.

To develop the new scale, a list of survey items were selected from other related studies. Next, the researchers abstracted a set of potential items according to two focus groups' responses. Lastly, four dynamics of concertive control shared values, normative expectation, rule formation and peer relationships were used to determine the final items. As a result, an 8-item "concertive control scale" with a 5-point response format that can be described as "1-to a very little extent" to "5-to a very great extent" was developed.

A self-reporting questionnaire was used to collect data from 156 water utility workers from an organization using self-managing teams. Data was then gathered from 114 water utility workers in three other organizations using traditionally managed teams. All the organizations engaged in the same waste water treatment production processes in different states of Australia. Data were further analyzed by the LISREL 8 program to determine the instrument's validity, reliability and invariance across the two samples of self-managing and traditionally managed teams.

The results of this study show strong evidence of the scale's "convergent and discriminant validity," and reliability in both two samples. It also showed that invariance of factor structure, factor loadings, variance-covariance matrices and error variances across the two different teams.

This research shows strength in various areas. It developed the "concertive control scale" through building upon an existing body of strong research, such as Tompkins's work (185) and "team member exchange quality scale" from Seers (14). In addition, two types of samples were used that increased the accuracy of the study. Moreover, the validity and reliability of this scale has been confirmed by Hilgermann's study (18) in service settings in the USA, which provided it a good cross-industry application. Furthermore, it provides a useful means for further studies in the area of concertive control.

However, this study also has a weakness. The use of surveys in an attempt to gather data is inherently problematic. This is because answers can be very subjective. In some cases, it can be difficult to try to get those that are surveyed to reveal private information or tell the truth for some questions. As a result, the data may not be completely representative of the true variables the researcher wants to analyze.

The findings of this study have some practical implications in a real world organizational context. First of all, it provides a systematic methodology for which process issues related to teamwork can be identified and analyzed. Furthermore, organizations can use this scale as a means to assess employee's concertive behaviors and track team development over a period time. By doing so, team members can be aware how tightly their team controls each member's activity. Moreover, information in the scale can be used to identify potential trouble within a team. Therefore, "concertive control scale" works as a guide to ensure that teamwork will benefit both organizations and individuals.

This semester I decided to go to the Art Museum in Ontario. This months exhibitions were on birds and their influences on the human life. Through the exhibition we learned about the different birds and what they represent to their country. After looking through the whole exhibition I learned the wonder of the bird and the questioning its brought to the scientist's about flying.

When we were going into the museum and I read about the exhibition and learned what its going to be about I didn't think it was going to be much fun. I've never really liked bird painters because I didn't know their inspirations until today. Something that really caught my attention was what said.. " The essence of a bird can now be caught in more ways than the old fashions of the bird in a hand method. Now its possible to capture the spirit of the bird soaring through the sky with a paint set."

"A flying bird can inspire the heart and challenge the mind to truly know how a bird flies to satisfy the mind at the expense of the heart a bird must die, this paradox allows us to study the parts of the bird and how this wonderful miracle is possible." After reading this it changed my mind completely about the bird photographers. What amaze me are their inspirations and their way of thinking. All they try to do when capturing bird's images is to satisfy their need to wonder.

This months exhibitions had paintings from a lot of different people but most of the paintings were on Andrew Jackson. He was a famous bird painter who painted more than 100 paintings that were never published. It said that an artist gets satisfaction when capturing the bird's image with the bright colors. For a flying bird to look truly wonderful it needs to have the background where it flies in. For a painter to be happy he has to share his paintings with others so they can also enjoy what he has caught.

From this museum I got to see things that I've never thought that I would enjoy seeing. My opinion toward the painters is a positive one all that they are doing is exploring the miracles of life. This museum is something that I will consider recommending to people who don't believe the importance of life
